12 Health Benefits of Diffusing Essential Oils & How to Choose a Diffuser

In the last five years or so there has been quite a buzz surrounding essential oils. They have gone mainstream, and while I am completely pro essential oil, I know that this big boom of popularity has come with its downfalls. This includes: the distribution of oils that are not as high quality as they are portrayed, the improper use of oils (including the advice to have your children ingest certain essential oils, yikes), or using oils in a way that destroys their quality or potency. Essential oils contain a plethora of health benefits, but whether or not you’re using them properly is what determines the level of benefits you’ll actually receive.

How To: An at home organic facial for glowing & healthy skin (vol. 3)

Time for another part to the series where I showcase some of my favourite green skin care products and show you how I use them to create at home facial treatments that stand up to the spas! (and are less toxic too). It is a lot cheaper and economical to purchase high quality skin care products to perform your own facial at home. Spa treatments usually come with a few steps that must be done in the correct order so you can receive the most benefits from each product. I have put together this mini article to show you what products I used this time to pamper myself and boost my skin. I also added links to the product websites for you to link to if you see something you like (not sponsored, just pure skin love shared for you!).

Lotus Wei Flower Elixirs: What is Plant Alchemy?

I spent years working in the field of mental health care before becoming a Mother, which lead to me make the decision to stay home with my baby while she grows. While I worked, I spent a lot of time reading and applying all of the alternative modalities of therapy I could find. I have always gravitated towards therapies rooted in nature, mindfulness, and self awareness. I believe I steered towards these therapies because, I myself, benefited from therapies of this kind in conjunction with holistic healing while overcoming an eating disorder years ago. I still firmly believe in finding ways to de-stress and de-clutter my life. I have turned to mindfulness, meditation, yoga, naturopathy, reiki, and chakra therapy. Every single one of these practices incorporates an element of self care, which is something I am an advocate for.

Long Lasting Freshness with Tom’s of Maine

Running after a toddler has proven to be a bit more action oriented than taking care of a newborn. My little one was on the move by 10 months making the last 6 months full of energy and fun. Time spent playing outside in the Summer and Fall months have also offered some new “challenges” to my hygiene routine. This extra workout each day meant that I needed to find a deodorant that lasted a little longer than what I had been using, as it just wasn’t holding up like it used to.
