Dress up your neutral wardrobe with statement shoes

I have always loved shoes. Since I could remember, I had a large collection of footwear strung around every corner of my house. For the most part, I go for comfortable flats like sneakers, mules, ballet flats, or slip ons. Every once in a while I jazz it up with a fancy pair of heels. Shoes are one of the best places to add flare especially if you’re like me and LOVE to keep your outfits as neutral as possible. Thats not to say I won’t toss on a bright red dress once in a while but if you looked in my closet, its mainly greys, blacks, creams, whites, blush pinks, browns, and taupes. So, when I want to add that pop of colour or extra flare I tend to do so with my footwear.

I figured I would share the outfit details for this look, and although these shoes were bought circa 2009 from Holt Renfrew, I’ve linked some new picks that could add the same flare. I also linked to my outfit below.

Hair: I used my trusty 5-in-1 curling wand from Bombay Hair, purchase HEREΒ for US customers and HERE for Canadian customers.. dont forget to use my Discount code: BYERS20.

Top: purchased from Boutique 1861Β this past summer. This boutique is constantly getting new pieces in and although they dont sell this exact top anymore, there are so many beautiful options to choose from still. You will get lost “window shopping” on this website through the gorgeous gowns, adorable sweaters, and fun neutral options.

Pants: These tapered black dress pants fit AMAZING and were purchased from Joe Fresh, you can find this exact pair HERE.

Bag: This bag is also a purchase made from years ago. I am an advocate of purchasing investment pieces when it comes to accessories like handbags so I tend to keep mine for a long time. Classic bags are always a good idea. I have linked to some of my favourite bags in my Faux Fashion Shopping Guide HERE. You’ll find similar styles to this purse from the post.

Shoes: As I said above, the shoes I am wearing in my picture are from Holt Renfrew years ago. So I took to Amazon Fashion to find some statement heels that will match your neutral dress-casual wardrobe perfectly.
