May’s Detox Box Reveal + Review: One Love Organics

The weather is finally coming around and May is bringing some sunshine and warmer temperatures along with it. I always like to switch up some of my products when the seasons change and that is why I am SO excited to talk about May’s Detox Box from the Detox Market. This month they chose a brand that I’ve been seeing quite a buzz around lately and after trying them myself, I am totally jumping on board with the hype! They are the perfect additions to any summer skincare regime and its been love at first pump since I opened these bottles.

One Love Organics is a green beauty indie brand that is hand crafted and filled to the brim with skin loving ingredients. Creator, Suzanne LeRoux, indulged in self care during her studies to become a lawyer and claims it to be one of the reasons she was able to push through some pretty intense schooling. After completing this degree, she went on to further her studies in aromatherapy, integrative herbology, holistic nutrition and cosmetic chemistry. This eventually transformed into the company we’ve all heard about lately and is undoubtedly why the formulations are so well put together. Now these products can be found across the States, Canada and Europe after being created in micro batches in its Eco-cert factory on the island of St. Simons, Georgia. I imagine this location is where much of the inspiration for this line comes from because as soon as I opened their Vitamin C Body Oil from this months Detox Box I was immediately transferred to an island thanks to the decadent aroma of piña colada. Yes, you heard me.. it’s delicious!

Skin Benefits of Vitamin C

Each of the products that came in this month’s box are infused with Vitamin C.  Vitamin C is touted as being one of the best things you can put on your skin and for good reason. It is a powerful antioxidant which will help reduce the effects of the suns rays and pollution on our skin. Vitamin C also inhibits melanin production meaning it will reduce sun spots and uneven skin tone quicker than other ingredient on the market. If you have uneven, thick, dull, sluggish or acne prone skin then you should be investing in a good Vitamin C containing product. It has been used for many skin ailments and helps the skin with cellular turnover and renewal. Nothing will get you quicker to flawless skin than hydration and cellular turnover, both of which these products offer in big doses. In reality, hydration and quicker cellular turnover really are two goals that should be in everyone’s skincare routine.

Vitamin C Body Oil

Its important to mention that this isn’t just a rule when it comes to our face, our body counts too. Many times we forget to take care of the skin on our bodies, it is something I was guilty of for years until recently but I have come to love my new found body care rituals that keep my skin soft and healthy. I was so excited when I saw this body oil laying nicely inside my detox box and then I was blow away when I opened the bottle and layered it on my skin. SO dewy, thick, rich, and leaves my skin super silky.

The body oil is comprised mostly of organic ingredients. Here is the complete ingredient deck:

butyrospermum parkii (shea) oil*, helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil*, hydrogenated vegetable oil, camellia sinensis (green tea) seed oil*, lactobacillus/papaya fruit ferment extract (and) carica papaya (papaya) seed oil, tocopherol, ascorbyl palmitate, fragrance/parfum

*Ingredients from Organic Farming

It’s important to note that when I received this product I noticed that it does contain fragrance, but if you look on the box it clearly states that these scents are comprised of plants so are NOT synthetic. I was really impressed by its ability to hydrate the skin. Their Vitamin C Body oil has the most amazing texture and glides into skin making it feel silky and smooth. It absorbs fast and is like a serum for your body! The pina colada scent does make it a body product for summer. Definitely worth getting at a steep discount in the detox box this month as its regularly $58.00 USD on its own.

Vitamin C Face Serum

The second product that came along with this body oil was their Vitamin C Face Serum. This serum comes loaded with some hydrating ingredients, as well as skin restoring Vitamin C. It is a great option to combat environmental stress during summer months and will help to combat sun spots and uneven skin tone that occurs when your skin is exposed for too long to damaging UV rays. It also contains come of my favourite ingredients for use on the face such as rosehip oil, seabuckthorn, rose extract, meadowfoam seed oil, to name a few!

Here is the complete ingredient deck (as you can see there is no fragrance in this one which I totally agree with for the face):

simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil*, butyrospermum parkii (shea) oil*, camellia sinensis (green tea) seed oil*, caprylic/capric triglyceride, limnanthes alba (meadowfoam) seed oil, jojoba esters, adansonia digitata (baobab) oil*, ascorbyl palmitate, rosa canina (rosehip) oil*, malpighia glabra (acerola) fruit extract*, hippophae rhamnoides (seabuckthorn) berries extract*, haematococcus pluvialis extract, humulus lupulus (hops) strobile, tocopherol, rose extract, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract*, helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil*

*Ingredients from Organic Farming

This product sits easily between face serum and face oil for me, for some skin types you could get away with using this as a moisturizer and serum in one as it is SO hydrating and SO dewy. I personally have very dry skin so I still layer my regular face oils on top of this. It has been a great addition to my skincare routine as of late and I’m excited to see how it helps reduce pigmentation in my skin. I am totally on board with all the raving review over this lines face products and cant wait to try more. This bottle of goodness is especially worth getting at the reduced box rate as it is normally $75.00 USD.

You can grab both of these products for as low as $39.95 USD ($57.99 CAD) depending on which option you choose. There is many ways to sign up for the detox box, both 3 and 6 month options are available. The box ships out the first week of the month and each month a new green beauty brand is chosen to feature a few of their top performing products. I have been loving my Detox Box deliveries so far and cant wait to see what they have coming up over the next few months!

Grab your One Love Organics Detox Box HERE (U.S.) or HERE (Canada). This months One Love is sure to sell out fast so if this is a brand you’ve been waiting patiently to try I’d suggest getting on this deal of  $133.00 USD worth of One Love for roughly half the price.

Sharing is Caring!
