MUN Skincare has been one of my most trusted skincare brands and one I never hesitate to recommend when anyone asks me for my favourites. They use incredibly powerful, well sourced, and well researched ingredients in their product development that work to heal and improve the appearance as well as function of the skin. MUN really takes their time at developing new products and have never rushed this process as they truly look into every aspect of formulation before sending something out on the shelves. This has created one of the most well rounded green beauty brands around and one that I would (and do) use EVERY product out of. I truly can’t say that about every brand I’ve tried, many have their rock star products but few hit it out of the park with every single one like MUN does. So when I received their new moisturizer meant to protect your skin from environmental stress and pollutants while delivering deep hydration by improving the barrier function of your skin.. As I had expected, Protect + Revive Moisturizer went beyond my expectations. It is suitable for all skin types and would be a great option for men as well. I noticed the product created a barrier over my face oils to help reduce exposure to urban pollutants in the air (something we don’t talk about enough in skincare but is imperative to maintaining the health of our skin). It sat so nicely over all my other products and has the most illumining yet non-greasy finish. I have definitely noticed that my skin has appeared “plumper” and less dehydrated and this is thanks to the addition of hyaluronic acid as well as protective ingredients that help boost the function of the skins barrier to prevent water loss. This helps maintain the hydrating effects of your other products like face oils and keeps them from not absorbing properly in the skin. Products that work together to improve each other are always a benefit to your skincare routine.. they help your skin to use the products more effectively and keep you from losing any benefits. I always recommend you simplify your skincare routine but use products that are powerful and have the greatest utility for the results you expect. This is why researching ingredient decks and how each ingredient works is a benefit to you before adding to cart.
My Personal Love + Mini Review of MUN
In my opinion, MUN does a lot of the heavy lifting when it comes to deciding which ingredients go best in what product. Their minimal but powerful approach to skincare means that their line really does well for all skin types. I have redness prone, acne prone, sensitive skin and really scrutinize what goes onto it. A lot of products can leave a reddening effect to my cheeks but MUN has never created a product that caused this type of irritation for me.
I fell in love with their oil based cleanser, AKWI Purifying Cleanser, first when it showed up in a subscription box for me a few years back. It is the perfect bridge for anyone looking to enter the world of oil cleansing as it has the texture of a traditional cleanser. It is rich and creamy and leaves your skin so soft and fresh. My experience with this product caused me to dive deeper into the brand and I tried the rest of their line all at once. I fell madly in love with their AKNARI Brightening Youth Serum, which has become my number one choice for skincare serums to date. It contains a blend of incredibly well sourced prickly pear seed oil, argan oil and rose flower essential oil. It is simple in it’s combination yet SO effective for the skin and the ingredients work synergystically to deliver so many benefits to your skin. It also smells like a bed of roses which is never a bad thing. Then I paired these products with their ANAROSE Hydrating Toner which smells like a floral garden and helps lock in moisture while firming the skin beneath your moisturizer. It contains hyaluronic acid and rosewater which work to calm, heal and firm the skin. This 3 part skincare regimen is so healing and effective. It creates a glow like I’ve never experienced, reduces inflammation and irritation, plumps the skin, and works with you towards graceful aging. Their multipurpose Argan Oil is one of the best singular argan oils I’ve used to date on the market. It is sourced directly from Morroco and can be used for skin, hair, nails, or body. It is a really amazing multi-use product that comes in an incredibly generously sized bottle so you can keep it on your beauty shelf when you need some extra TLC. Lastly, their AYOUR Toning Body Serum that contains prickly pear seed oil and rosehip oil which work at reducing wrinkles and stretch marks (I used this after having my first child to help reduce the appearance of stretch marks I incurred on my sides). It absorbs quickly and feels silky on the skin.
